Flavour Profile
The Wine
If you love a big, rich Barossa Shiraz, then you can't go past Patronus. Winemaker Andrea Maxwell has crafted a classic big Barossa Shiraz from a single vineyard in the Ebenezer sub-region of the Barossa Valley, a region some call 'Grange' country due to the quality of the soils – and the fruit that grows here. This winner of Gold and Double Gold, is generously intense but with the elegant charm that Patronus wines are well known for. Look forward to a "nose combining a floral character, soft woody notes, juicy red and blackfruit with mild spices... welcoming palate – fleshy and full-bodied. Very smooth fruity finish" as the Gilbert and Gaillard judges noted, awarding it its prestigious Double Gold. Delicious with a range of dishes from kangaroo to prime rib, herb-crusted lamb chops to hearty vegetable casseroles.
