Corryton Burge Kith Barossa Valley Shiraz 2020

Corryton Burge's 92pt Barossa Shiraz showcases lifted aromas of chocolate-coated raspberry licorice, nutmeg, cheesecake and underlying smoky, toasty oak. Displaying characteristics seen in many Shiraz dominant wines from the region from the exceptional 2020 vintage. The palate is rich and bold with its fruit and chocolate flavours however the tannin levels are subdued, leaving the palate with a sense of rounded readiness for immediate enjoyment. The flavours of milk chocolate and sweet spice linger. Half the wine was aged in oak for 10 months, and the other aged for 18 months. Predominately American oak barrels with about 30% French oak. Only a small percentage of new oak, allowing the fruit's freshness and vibrancy to shine through.
