Flavour Profile
The Wine
Sourced from a single vineyard Shiraz site belonging to Mark Cooper and Russell Burns in Vine Vale at the heart of the Barossa Valley. This premium multi-Gold-winning Unity Shiraz is matured in a combination of 40% new French and American oak for 20 months – quite the investment! Rich aromas of intense mocha, blackberries with dark earthy spicy, cedary oak. Palate shows intensity, richness and a luscious generous mouthfeel. Filled with attractive blackberries, dark plum, subtle vanillin essences and toasty oak held together with silky smooth tannins. The finish is long and complex – completing a very classy wine. "Opulent, sumptuous and hugely appealing, the wine shows mixed berry compote, vanillin oak, cake spice and dark chocolate notes on the nose, leading to a delectably expressed palate displaying outstanding concentration and plush mouthfeel. It's lavish yet brilliantly structured and harmonious... 97pts" (Sam Kim, Wine Orbit).
