Calabria The Orford Durif 2020

In the 1920s, the months-long voyage from Southern Italy to the promising 'new world' of Australia was long and arduous. Over the years, many Italians boarded the Orient Line passenger ship, The Orford, looking to make a new life for themselves and their family. In 1929, Francesco Calabria was on of them. The Orford Durif honours this fateful journey. And true to the concept of family, the parcels of fruit which make up this powerful red are selected from local RIverina family growers. An abundance of black plums and blueberry with hints of liquorice and dark chocolate feature on the nose and palate. Well-rounded soft oak tannins give structure to this wine's ripe black fruit density. Enjoy with roast pork belly or glazed barbecue beef ribs.
