Paul Byron and Harold (Ralph) Dunning believe that great winemaking begins in the vineyard and seek out those parcels of Western Australian wine that they believe wine lovers really want to drink. Wines with flavour that are true to their variety, wines with provenance that reflect the exceptional Margaret River region, and the extraordinary Great Southern vineyards.
Our journey began with the production of fortified wines, sold door-to-door with a hawker’s license. Over time, we have grown and nurtured vineyards across South Australia, cultivating over 300 hectares of land to create some of Barossa’s most prestigious and celebrated premium wines.
From humble beginnings in 2014 around the dining table at Norwood’s Queen St, C.W. Wines has become a highly successful family-owned and operated wine business. Our enviable portfolio of Australian wine brands spans the Coonawarra, Limestone Coast, McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley.
Burke Reschke, the fourth generation to work the land in Coonawarra, started developing vineyards and growing grapes for other wineries on the Reschke estate in 1989. The resulting fruit was so exceptional it was coveted by many wineries and used in some of Australia’s iconic wines.
